Mommy brain

During pregnancy your memory kind of goes out the door. Family and friends expect you to be a little absent minded while pregnant but I never realized that what my husband affectionately refers to as "spaghetti brain", carries over into mommy-hood. Here are a few tips for managing the chaos that comes with being a mom, whether you have one child or 10.
  • Get some sleep - probably the most effective method for regaining sanity. If you can, try and get to bed as early as possible. Those dirty dishes can wait, you need your sleep! If your baby is still waking in the middle of the night try and sleep as much as possible during the day while your baby is napping. Its amazing how much better I feel after some good rest.
  • Make a list - having trouble remembering what exactly you need to do this week? Try making a list. I find that it helps to add everything to my list, even the little things like laundry or cleaning the bathroom. Not only does it help me stay on top of chores and errands, I get a huge sense of accomplishment from checking things off of whether its cleaning the entire house or sanitizing the baby's toys
  • Get moving - exercise has such a wonderful way of clearing your mind and boosting energy levels. If you are feeling foggy and tired try going for a little walk outside, even if its just to the mailbox.
  • Eat your veggies - cleaning up your eats can give you the energy and motivation to accomplish all of those things on your to do list
xoxo - Leah
