Topic Tuseday: What has been the biggest blessing of being a wife and mother?

We are starting a new weekly series here on Mother's Mouthful called Topic Tuesdays. Each Tuesday we will be discussing a different topic and would love to hear your thoughts as well! If there is a topic you would like us to discuss leave a comment or email us (mothersmouthful@gmail.com)

I loved this question because it really made me think. So often we think of the day to day struggles. We tend to get overwhelmed with expectations and the responsibility we have as wives and mothers, that we can forget all the joy and pure happiness that comes along with it! I think that one of the biggest blessings that came from my marriage is having someone see me with all my imperfections and loving me anyway. I have such a sense of security with Ryan and although we can drive each other crazy, I know that God (with the help of our mothers!) put us together for a reason. As far as being a mom, my biggest blessing would be being a mom at all! I mean really, Bentley is my blessing. I couldn't imagine my life without him. He makes me laugh every day and brings joy to my heart. Becoming a mom has made me fall in love with my husband all over again and I just thank God everyday for my little family.

Like Tara, one of the greatest blessings of being a wife is having someone love me unconditionally, no matter what I do (or do not do!). My husband also constantly pushes me to better myself and pursue my goals. He is always cheering me on and he is the one person that knows me better than anyone else. As for being a mother, there are so many things that I absolutely love about it! Although I often times struggle with guilt and not always being the best mom, there are so many little moments that happen every day with my girls that bless me immensely and push me to keep going. It is the gummy smile and look of pure joy on my 6 month olds' face when I get her up from a nap and the moments when my 3 1/2 year old randomly tells me throughout the day that how much she loves me. Just watching my girls grow and become little people is incredible! And of course being a wife and mother often times exposes my flaws and short comings... but I think this too is a blessing (in disguise) because there are so many things I didn't realize about myself before and I can grow because of it.

My favorite thing about being a wife is getting to have my best friend with me all of the time. I love being able to do day to day things together; eating dinner, watching a show, taking a walk, getting a coffee. I find much more joy in the simple things when my husband is there to share in them with me! Some favorite every day moments: hearing him come in the door after a long day of work, cuddle time on the couch after baby L is asleep, laughing at inside jokes, eating our favorite after dinner treat together, back rubs. My favorite part of being a mother is getting my little guy up from his nap when he is cuddly and warm and still a little sleepy. There are so many quiet, sweet moments that I get to enjoy with him throughout the day. Mostly I just love watching him learn and change. Some favorite every day moments: watching a big smile light up his face when I ask him if he wants a piece of toast, the way he cuddles with his blankie and Mr. Panda, the joy that comes from bouncing a simple tennis ball on the floor, the noises he makes when he sees a bird or a dog or a baby.
