I know that he would love it if I took the
initiative and prepared dinner for us instead of expecting
him to do it. I'm sure if I also offered a
foot rub instead of asking for one he would appreciate that too!
Similar to what Tara said, I like to surprise my husband with food. That can mean cooking a favorite meal or making a fresh loaf in our breadmaker for when he gets back from work or simply picking up his favorite candy and hiding it somewhere for him to find with a sweet note. Here is an awesome idea I recently found on pinterest. I want to get better at consistently doing it but basically the things on the list coordinate with the day of the month and it gives you one thing to focus on/do for your husband that day. Super easy and your husband feels like he is getting attention even if you are busy with the kids/house that day :)
One thing I know my husband would love is a back rub. It's not something I enjoy doing particularly so I never offer. I would love to be better about sacrificing my time to give the hubbs a back rub because I know it's something that is super relaxing for him after a long day of work. Another thing he loves is when I take the initiative to do tedious every day tasks so that he doesn't have to such as bills, budget, etc. All of which I procrastinate on regularly!
I love this post!
ReplyDeleteI have a really hard time getting out of bed in the morning... like, really hard. So my husband is always making our coffee and emptying the dishwasher and feeding the dog, etc etc. Maybe I'll get up early tomorrow and do all the "morning chores", plus iron a shirt for him to wear, so that he can sleep in a little.
Thanks for posting this. A great reminder of how little things can make a big difference!
Thanks Julia, What a great way to show him a little love! I can so relate, after a long night with Bentley I usually hand him off to Ryan and go back to bed. Hopefully Bentley will start sleeping through the night soon so I can help Ryan out in the morning! Good luck tomorrow!!
